The camera we recommend for traveling is the Olympus E-PL series. This camera is a micro four thirds mirrorless camera which makes it smaller and light weight but doesn't sacrifice quality, which makes it great for being on the go. At the time we were traveling we had the E-PL5, the newest series on market is now the E-PL9.
The lens we used was the H-X025, 25mm bright F1.4 - F16 Leica optics.
